Privacy Policy

The short version

VGCStocks is a free, play-money fan game. We collect the minimum needed to run your account and keep the site working. We do not run ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other websites.

What we collect

Account details: your username, a securely hashed password (we never store the plain password), and an optional favorite Pokémon. Gameplay data: your PokéPoints, holdings, trades, forum posts, check-ins, and similar in-game activity. Technical data: your IP address and basic request information, used only for security and rate limiting, kept briefly. We do not collect your real name, email, or payment details (there are no payments).

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in (your session). We also store a small flag in your browser to remember your cookie choice. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If you decline cookies you can still browse, but you will need cookies enabled to log in and save your portfolio.

Third-party data

We display public data from Smogon, Limitless VGC, and PokéAPI. When your browser loads sprites, it may request them from PokéAPI's servers. Those services have their own privacy practices.

Players shown on the site

The player market lists real VGC competitors using publicly available tournament results (name, country, placements). If you are a listed player and want your information removed, email us using the removal button on the Players page. To stop people from taking down someone else's listing, we confirm you are that player before removing anything; once verified we remove you and stop listing you.

Children

VGCStocks is intended for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and its data at any time by emailing ilikepokemonstocks@gmail.com. We keep your data while your account is active and remove it on request, except where we must keep something to comply with the law.
